Kto sme?
Starting from scratch 29 years ago, DETOX is now a fully integrated, recycling and waste management company with operations across the whole country. We provide end-to-end solutions across the waste management supply chain including waste collection, processing, recovery and disposal. We remove waste from your site using ADR certified trucks, we process waste in our licensed facilities, we provide labour to handle waste streams directly on your site, we keep your waste management files in compliance. We also provide professional industrial cleaning services, and 24/7 emergency and spill response service.
HISTORY
1992
DETOX was founded on October 29, 1992 by two chemical engineers, Mr. Roman Forgáč and Mr. Lorant Vojček with the initial aim to recycle used organic solvents generated by dry-cleaning industry. Both, the operating scale and the scope of expertise has expanded in a short time and in the following years the company provided a comprehensive package of waste management and industrial cleaning services.
In 1998-99, DETOX is split into three legal entities; CENTRALCHEM Ltd. is dealing in distribution of chemical products, LAMES Ltd. is specialized in environment-friendly technologies for metal surfaces degreasing, while DETOX remains focused on waste management.
CENTRALCHEM later merged with a competing firm LABOCHEM to become a second largest company on Slovak chemical distribution market. LAMES was not such a success story, ends up filling for bankruptcy eighth years later, in 2007.

DETOX opens its first plant, a Physical-Chemical Waste Treatment Centre in Banská Bystrica.
The company's impressive performance over the past years raised interest of financial investors. In 2000, a 48,5% stake in the company was acquired by a private equity investor EIP (Environmental Investment Partners) to raise capital needed to fund construction of the company's second plant in Rimavska Sobota.
In 2001, DETOX's environmental management system is awarded with the international ISO certification, certifying the Company meets requirements of the ISO 14001:2004
In 2002, DETOX is getting licensed by the Ministry of the Environment to process and recycle waste oils and waste mercury lamps. In the same year, two years from EIP's entry, DETOX launches processing facility in Rimavska Sobota, spreading on 60.000 square metres and dedicated to waste oils and waste solvents recycling.
In 2003, DETOX opens a collection point and transfer station in Bratislava.

In 2004 DETOX wins an important contract to clean polluted site of the former APOLLO refinery in Bratislava.
In 2005, EIP exits from the company, DETOX's founding partners buy all shares back and regain full control of the company.
In 2006 - 2008, we carry out cleaning of the lakes in Senec (Slnecne jazera) by removing the lake's sediments. The contract worth SK 180 million (€6 mil) took three years to finish.
2006: DETOX's regional warehouse and transfer station in Bratislava is destroyed by fire and the company is forced to close the facility and reconfigure its operations.
The global financial crisis in 2009 affects Slovakia with DETOX facing dramatic decline in sales. In the following 12 months., the company is undergoing major restructuring.
In 2010, DETOX acquires EKO-M Slovakia s.r.o a local competitor located in Trnava. Soon after the acquisition is completed, the management starts designing a new warehouse in Trnava.
By the mid 2010 the company's restructuring is over and 2011 sees a record breaking financial performance.

2012
DETOX celebrates its 20th anniversary. New company's information system called QI is implemented and it is going to take many years to perfect it.
DETOX's quality management system is awarded with the international certification, certifying the Company meets the requirements of the ISO 9001: 2008.
DETOX is granted a Certificate of Safety, Quality and Environmental Aspects (SQAS) for companies providing transport.
The company is accepted as a member of CACS (Czech Association of Cleaning Stations), which is a member of the European Federation of Tank Cleaning Organisations (EFTCO).
In the same year DETOX is granted a permission to declare quality of cleaning (road and rail tank cars) by issuing a European Cleaning Document (ECD)

DETOX's is awarded with the international certification, certifying the Company meets requirements of the OHSAS 18001: 2007, in the field of Occupational Health and Safety.
V-FORCE, a high-vacuum suction truck is purchased. It is a special purpose vehicle dedicated to cleaning pipes, sewage systems, industrial tanks and process technologies by combination of high vacuum and high pressure.
On 25th company's anniversary, DETOX's employees receive a jubilee bonus by dividing the amount equal to a day of company's gross sales between employees.

In 2019, DETOX wins a €2,5 million contract to be a supplier of recycled oils for Bratislava motorway bypass D4R7. Over the next two years DETOX supplies close to 5.400 ton of oils.
In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic hits Slovakia and affects all industries. In April, the company's sales plummet to the lowest figure in twenty years. However, the company's management steered the firm well through the crisis to record 'only' a 20% decline in both sales and profit.
